Latino group hosts vaccine event
El Buen Samaritano, 7000 Woodhue Drive, will host a COVID-19 vaccination event from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday.
According to the nonprofit, public health data shows that while 34% of Austin’s population is Latino, COVID-19 hospitalizations among Latinos rose to 70% of the overall population in June.
The event will have 100 Pfizer vaccines available on a first-come, first-served basis. People are asked to text “Vaccine” to 737-234-3970 to indicate they plan to attend. People who get vaccinated will receive a $50 cash incentive per dose ($50 first dose and $50 when receiving the second dose).
