During the pandemic, El Buen’s Community Health Workers (CHWs) have played a vital role in providing culturally-competent, equitable access to health and basic needs services for the Latino community in Central Texas—a community disproportionately affected by COVID-19 both in terms of health and economic impact. Our CHWs have helped to provide over 26,000 individuals with access to food, distribute over $8 million in financial and rental assistance, and facilitate COVID-19 vaccines for 2,693 individuals to date.

Today we celebrate all Community Health Workers and Promotors for the invaluable work they bring to our health care system. Thank you for helping us to build health in our communities!
