During the pandemic, El Buen’s Community Health Workers (CHWs) have played a vital role in providing culturally-competent, equitable access to health and basic needs services for the Latino community in Central Texas—a community disproportionately affected by COVID-19 both in terms of health and economic impact. Our CHWs have helped to provide over 26,000 individuals with access to food, distribute over $8 million in financial and rental assistance, and facilitate COVID-19 vaccines for 2,693 individuals to date.
